HWTA is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.

Ridge Road Apps LLC (“Ridge Road Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) developed and publishes HWTA (Health and Wellness Tracker Aid) (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and what choices you have.

The short version

HWTA is built to keep your health information on your device. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or has access to your symptom logs, notes, medication records, cycle data, wearable data, or photos. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. Payment processing for subscriptions is handled entirely by Google Play, and we never see your payment details.

Information you enter into the App

HWTA lets you record information for your own personal tracking purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Symptom check-ins and quick logs
  • Notes you write
  • Medication and dose records
  • Menstrual cycle tracking
  • Photos you choose to attach to logs
  • Custom symptoms and event types you create

This information is stored locally on your device, in the App’s private storage area. It is not transmitted to Ridge Road Apps, to any server we operate, or to any third party, except as described below (encrypted backups you create and manage yourself, and optional wearable data sync you explicitly enable).

Information from connected wearable devices

If you choose to connect a wearable or health-tracking device (for example, through Google Health Connect), HWTA may read data such as sleep duration, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, steps, and similar metrics, only for the data types you specifically grant permission for. This connection is optional and can be disabled at any time in Settings. Wearable data you import is stored locally on your device using the same local-only storage as your other health data.

Wearable-sourced data is provided by your device and its manufacturer’s app and may not be medically accurate. See the in-App disclaimers for more detail.

Encrypted backups

HWTA offers an optional manual backup feature that lets you create an encrypted backup file of your data, including photos if you choose. This backup file is encrypted and stored wherever you choose to save it (for example, your device’s file storage or a cloud storage app you select). Ridge Road Apps does not receive, store, or have access to your backup files or the password used to encrypt them. If you lose your backup password, we cannot recover it or your data.

Subscription billing (HWTA Plus)

HWTA offers an optional subscription, HWTA Plus, that unlocks additional features. Subscription purchases and payment processing are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Ridge Road Apps does not receive, process, or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information — that information is handled by Google in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy.

The App receives only the minimum information necessary from Google Play to determine whether your account holds an active subscription (an entitlement status), so the App can unlock or lock the relevant features. This entitlement check does not include any of your health data.

Optional donations/tips

If you choose to send an optional donation or tip to support development, this is processed through Google Play Billing (or, if offered, a third-party platform such as Ko-fi, subject to that platform’s own privacy policy). This is entirely separate from your health data and from any HWTA Plus subscription.

Camera and photo permissions

If you choose to attach photos to a log, HWTA will request camera permission (only when you tap “Take photo”) or use Android’s system Photo Picker (which does not require broad photo library access) when you choose an existing image. Photos you attach are stored locally and privately on your device. We strip location (GPS) metadata from photos automatically. HWTA does not use cloud-based image processing, and does not analyze, diagnose, or interpret the content of any photo.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, receive, or have access to:

  • Your symptom, medication, cycle, or wearable data
  • Photos you attach to logs
  • Your device’s precise location
  • Advertising identifiers for ad targeting (we do not serve ads)
  • Your payment card or billing information

Analytics and crash reporting

HWTA does not currently use any analytics or crash-reporting service.

Children’s privacy

HWTA is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children, and HWTA does not store any user health data on a server.

Data deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting individual entries or attachments within the App, or by uninstalling the App entirely, which removes all locally stored data (unless you have saved an encrypted backup elsewhere, which you control separately).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
